Our Team -- Walking Around -- By Meg

On Friday morning we planed to go to a lady name Lucia's house and
have a little snack to show what Mozambicans eat here.
When we arrived at her house she was not ready.
Since she had not prepared anything yet,
we went to visit some ladies from the church that live nearby.

Lucia is a widow and has 7 children.
The two girls here are twins. They are her youngest children.
This is the oldest women in our church.
She is there every Sunday.
She doesn't speak ANY Portuguese so we don't know her name.
She LOVED Mrs. Nipper!
Sights while walking.

Then, we came to a lady who lives very far away from the church.

She has four children who live in her house. Three of them come to church all the time.
They are precious to me!

She gave us peanuts for a snack.

Mrs. Teague and Linha
They went and bought bread and butter for us.
Then, we walked back to the Lucia's house where we were originally planning to
eat and she brought out the food.
She made Carakata and Matapa.
Carakata is made out of a white root that they eat here.
They let the root rot, then they pound it into a powder and make a very sticky green dough out of it.
And Matapa is made out of sweet potato leaves and tomatoes.
They eat the two together with their hands.

This is the root before they let it rot.

Pray for Lucia.
She has 7 children to take care for without a husband.
Pray that she will continue to grow in Christ.

Hugs,
Meg
