Time With The Teagues -- By Meg

*This blog post is about 3 weeks late, so so so sorry!*

A couple weeks ago our good friends, The Teagues, came to visit us.
They had to leave Hannah and Mary Beth, their girls, back in the states because of school.
We missed them lots!

We had a great time doing lots of things!

Right after they arrived in Mozambique
Buying some fruit on the way home.
One day, after church, we went to the Island of Mozambique.
I was the only one who had visited the Island
before, but hadn't really done much sightseeing.
It was really cool to see some of the things that are in this country,
but that we had never seen before.

We had church that morning, then we headed out to the Island.

Children's Class
Youth Class
To get to the Island to have to drive over a two-ish mile bridge.
It is a one lane bridge, so there are pull off points to let cars pass you.

Diving onto the island, from the mainland.
Once you get on the Island you see lots of people and houses below the road.

Then you get to the more wealthy part of town and you see more historical buildings.

We stayed at a place called Ruby's Backpackers.

On the roof was a big rooftop terrace.

We had dinner at a restaurant down the road.

We spent the night there, then got up in the morning to go and sight see.

One the little "road" that Ruby's was on.
On the Island is a HUGE fort. It was all made by hand.

Only a portion of the fort.
Climbing up to the roof.

Some of the inside of the fort.

If you look hard enough, you can see waves off in the distance.
They are made from the waves breaking on the coral way far out.

Friends Forever!

We also went to a museum that had a palace in it.
The palace was constructed in 1619 to house the island's governor and administration.

You are not allowed to take pictures inside. So, this was the best we could do.
Under the palace was a museum of the ocean and things.

You can only take pictures right inside of it.

We went to lunch at a really neat place.

On the way back home!

We had so much fun hanging out with the Teagues! Please come back soon!!!

Hugs,
Meg
