Sunday in Nampula

On our first Sunday in Mozambique we went to church with Billy and Sara in Nampula. For Lee and the girls it was their first time worshipping in an African church. The girls were a bit unsure about things but did really well. It is so difficult not knowing any of the language. We couldn’t even say, “Hi, how are you?” We just smiled and stood there! Here are some pictures of the church and of the crazy-muddy-busy road from the church to mission house.

After church the Turner’s took us to a RESTAURANT! Yes….that’s right! We ate cheese pizza and Zambezi chicken and fries! It was outside at a hotel and the restaurant part looked like Disney. We were so excited!

  1. Just wanted to let you know (although I'm sure you already heard) that our church, as a congregation prayed for your family by name this morning. Tracy, I prayed especially for you, that God would fill any moments of loneliness or longings for home with His incredible joy. I thought about the times when you want to pick up the phone to call a friend or go out for a simple cup of coffee, the things we take for granted here. Praying that the Lord will fill your heart with companionship and that you will find encouragement and friendship among those around you. Praying the same for your sweet girls!
