Fun Days in Nairobi

After we were finished with 40/40 we had a very long layover in Nairobi (3 days thanks to Kenyan Airways). We were so blessed to be invited to stay with another IMB family that we had never met...well the dad was at 40/40 for 2 days...and we did have about a 45 minute conversation with him over dinner....but, we had never met the rest of the family! They were awesome!!! They have 3 girls almost exactly the same ages as our girls....and they have a little guy also :)

They treated us to all the yummy stuff our bellies could handle. They shuttled us all over Nairobi. The wife and I talked and talked until we were exhausted. And, their kids played and played with our girls!!!! It was so nice!!!!

On Saturday morning, our family went to an "elephant orphanage". This is where elephants, who lose their mothers, go to be cared for. They are only open to the public 1 hour everyday so that the elephants do not get used to humans. It was a lot of fun!

At exactly 11am the keepers and babies come out of the woods.
The first thing they do is feed them 2 huge bottles of milk

This little guy was trying to knock us down!!!

After the elephants we went to this awesome restaurant. It is in a mall that seemed like it could be in Charlotte, NC!!

That afternoon we met the other family at the water park....I know....who would think that there would be a water park in Africa!!!
All the kids

Meghan and Jaden
Lilly and Emma

Emma and Avery (my camera ate my good one of them)

On Sunday we went to church with them and then to the mall for a yogurt snack!!! Can you believe we were in Kenya???? I know......no way!!!! Meghan's face says it all!!!

Then that afternoon we had Sunday dinner
with some other IMB families in Nairobi.
These are the kids!

Nairobi was a great place to visit! But, I sure would hate to live there! The city is so spread out and then there is the traffic....oh my!

Thank you so much "S" family for hosting us. We cannot wait until we have the chance to hang out with you again.

We left Nairobi on Monday morning heading back to Mozambique. There is no place like home!!!
