HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMA!!!!
Her day started off with breakfast out with Daddy.
*******
Then, lunch as a family at home.
Her favorite meal....fried chicken and fries.
*******
In the evening we had a party with all of the other IMB families in town and all of our
good national friends. Then, we had a few other guests.
Earlier in the day Emma invited Pascoa, our house helper, to stay for the party.
Of course, by the time she was finished at 4pm she was ready to go home.
She told me when she left that she would send her son (around 25 years old) to the party.
We still don't know if it is culture to send a family member if you are invited to an event if you can't go...... or if he really likes to go to little kid birthday parties. :-)
Then, when our guard arrived for the night he had his wife and 2 of his kids with him. They needed to spend the night in our backyard so that she could get out early to catch a bus.
So we invited them in for the party, too!
Here are some pictures of our first Mozambican/American birthday party....
