Going Away Party

Today we celebrated 14 months of life in Quelimane, Mozambique.
We invited everyone that we have had the privilege of working with during this time for a farewell lunch. It was a awesome time of fellowshipping and saying, "See you again another time". We wanted to say good-bye to everyone
and feed them well during this season of need.

We have been blessed in so many ways by these people!

The group that came.
(We were missing several important people, but were so happy with the group that was able to come.)
John and Wanne were so kind to let us gather at their house.
We wanted to have a traditional Mozambican meal.
So, we hired a guy from church to cook for us.
Here is the kitchen.

Chicken roasting on the grill!!
After they pluck the feathers from the chicken,
they keep some to use as brushes to baste the chicken while grilling.
The girls hanging out waiting for lunch.
And playing with the dogs
And the new puppy!
Suzana's girls
Some of the pastors inside having fun while waiting on lunch.
Washing hands before lunch.
Food is served!
Filling their plates!
Refreshments
Rice, beans with cabbage, goat and chicken
Our girls eating with Pastor João's girls.
The little ones sitting on the floor.
After lunch some of the kids played with sidewalk chalk outside.
Me and my African grandmother, Pascoa.
She is my houseworker and a great friend!
Lee and Pascoa......he can always make her smile!
This is how they ride bikes.....loaded with people.
Pastor João and his girls loaded down on their motorcycle.

We are so thankful to the Lord for His blessings on us this past year. We have had the honor of making some lifelong friends. We will miss them all.
